Local businesses and community organisations are being encouraged to ‘sponsor’ the new planters on Armley Town Street – in return for agreeing to maintain the floral displays.
The planters were introduced earlier this month by local group Alltogether Armley following requests by local residents and businesses to brighten up Town Street with flowers.
Alltogether Armley chair Gudrun Shemilt said:
“This is a fantastic opportunity to show support for the area by maintaining the planters, whilst advertising your business or organisation in a prominent position.
“Any business or organisation willing to maintain a planter in terms of the stocking of bedding plants, weeding and watering will given rights to place their company or organisation sign on the planters in the recessed areas designed for the purpose.”
