Calverley teacher celebrates publishing deal by launching new book in Farsley

A teacher from Calverley will host a launch for his new book at Truman Books in Farsley after securing a deal from a leading publisher.

Rob Potts, who works at Parklands Primary School in Seacroft, has written ‘The Caring Teacher – How to make a positive difference in the classroom.’

The book is a guide to building positive relationships and bringing the best out of young people. Rob said:

“Writing my first book has been a really nerve-wracking but rewarding experience.

“I only initially set out to write it for myself but, after being urged to send the manuscript to publishers, was surprised to receive offers from some of the biggest companies in the sector.

“It’s just snowballed from there and the reviews and feedback from respected figures within the education world have been overwhelming. Hopefully this will be the first of many books.”

The book is being published by John Catt Educational Ltd and has already attracted a range of positive reviews from leading figures in the education community.

Amanda Nuttall, a senior lecturer for Primary Education at Leeds Trinity University, said:

“I love this book. I’d highly recommend it to all teachers entering the profession: it’s a great read, friendly, relatable, and full of practical advice.”

To mark the book’s publication, Rob will be visiting Truman Books in Farsley Town Street on Friday, 3 December 2021 between 4-5pm before heading a few doors up to The Constitutional for an official launch.

Copies of the book will be available in Trumans Books – where you can order here – and other leading retailers from December 3.
