The Friends of Calverley Church of England Primary School are hosting their summer fair this weekend, writes Keely Bannister.
The friends group is the school’s parent-teacher association (PTA) – a collection of parents and carers who work with the school to fundraise needed resources and promote effective relationships between all.
With the help of the monies raised from this fair and the support of local businesses, Palmer Landscaping and Outdoor Classrooms, the group have fundraised their newest project – an outdoor classroom to help enhance the children’s learning and experience, as previously reported here.
The fair – taking place this Saturday 29th June from 12pm until 4.30pm at the Town Gate school – is host to a circus, which is sold out, but there is still lots of fun for attendees to enjoy including a BBQ & Bar, face painting, games & stalls, a raffle, as well as the climax to a silent auction which is currently taking place on Facebook.
The auction, which you can follow here, features a range of lots from coffee and cake at local businesses to passes to venues around the country.
Bidding on Facebook closes on Thursday 27th June at 10pm and then opens again to at the fair.
