Plans to demolish an extension which used to host a cafe at Marks & Spencer’s Owlcotes store have been submitted to Leeds City Council.
The cafe area, which has relocated to downstairs in the store, would be demolished and replaced with seven extra parking spaces for shoppers at the Owlcotes Centre.
A design statement accompanying the plans said: “There will be no impact to the operation of the existing cafe as this has ceased to operate from the single storey side extension and now operates from the larger café at basement level.
“The demolition of the projecting display window will not alter the store layout or access.”
