Plans for student flats on an increasingly popular ‘corrider’ coming out of the north-west of the city centre are to be considered by councillors on Thursday.
Members of the city plans panel will consider revised proposals for 87 student studio flats up to eight storeys high, communal facilities and a shop on Burley Street.
A simlar application was previously refused by both the council and an independent planning inspector on appeal.
There are seven letters of objection to the proposals – which can be read in full here – mainly on the grounds of density and claims of a proliferation of students in the area.
Plans are being recommended for approval by council planning officers, subject to a number of conditions.
