With a number of first-team players missing it was looking as though Bramley Buffaloes would struggle to bring anything home to West Leeds from their visit to second placed Goole Vikings.
But when the chips are down the character of the “squad” players comes through in brilliant fashion.
In a match that swung from one side to the other and with both teams looking to have taken control before losing it again, the final score of 34 points all was a fair result.
The Buffs scoring in the final minute through a try from Elthan McFarlane and a conversion from Kyle Briggs to level the scores.
Star three-quarter Kieran Hudson scorched in for a hat-trick of tries, while fellow backs Dylan Maan and Martin Loveridge scored tries along with substitute Joe Mathers who also added a try. Loose-forward Kyle Briggs added three goals to complete the scoring.
The buoyant Buffaloes celebrated after the match in typical “Buffs” style with a display of interesting fashion apparel!
This Saturday sees the Buffaloes on the road again for the final time in their championship-winning season as they travel to York St John’s Barbarians as they try and complete the season with an undefeated away record.
The Barbarians presently sit in fifth place in the division with six victories from their 12 matches, with their last game being an impressive 42-16 home demolition of the Scarborough Pirates.
