It was very much a case of “after the Lord Mayor’s show” as the Buffaloes went down to a shock 12-26 defeat at Upton in their first match since winning the Yorkshire Men’s League Trophy.
Finding themselves 0-12 down Bramley hit back with a try from Jack Boot converted by Lewis Gaunt and then straight from the kick-off Sam Neave scored one of the tries of the season as he went the full length of the pitch beating six attempted tacklers to score under the posts, another conversion by Gaunt made the match all level.
Upton tries just before half-time and at the beginning of the second half took the game away from the Buffalos and a late penalty goal for the hosts resulted in a disappointing defeat for the Bramley side.
