Buffaloes Bulletin: Bramley back to best ahead of title decider

By Paul  Abraham

After the previous week’s shock defeat the Buffaloes bounced back with a 56-12 away victory at Birstall Victoria.

However, it all started so badly at the hosts raced in to an early 12-0 lead before Bramley hit back with tries from Jack Boot, Sam Marshall and Codey Downey and two conversions by Lewis Gaunt gave the Buffs a 16-12 half-time lead.

A second half hat-trick for Zane Ballantyne a second try for Boot and tries from George Carpenter, Gaunt, Tom Langton with conversions from Lewis Gaunt (2) and Connor McGill (4) gave the Buffaloes an impressive away victory where again the pace and fitness of this current squad was on show to overpower their opponents.

Last week’s other Yorkshire Mens League Division Three

  • Upton 24 York Acorn 0
  • New Earswick All Blacks 18 Wyke 12
  • Dodworth Miners 44 Elland/Greetland 10

The final match of the 2024 season will see the champions being confirmed following the result of the Bramley Buffaloes home match against Dodworth Miners.

At present Dodworth lead the table with 24 points from their 13 matches while the Buffaloes are second with 22 points from their 13 matches.

With the superior points difference in Bramley’s favour whoever wins the match will be crowned worthy champions.
