A group of volunteers who clear Bramley’s war graves are holding their next strim and clean tomorrow (Wednesday 26 August) – and new helpers are very welcome!
As featured by the Dispatch last month, a group of about ten local residents from Bramley and Rodley give up a couple of hours every fortnight to clear close to 60 graves and memorials in the overgrown graveyard at Bramley Baptist Church in Hough Lane. Their aim is to keep the war graves tidy – and uncover something of Bramley’s past at the same time.
Tomtoorw they meet at the chain link fence entrance on Warrels Grove at 12.30pm.
One of the volunteers, Dave, said:
“New volunteers are always welcome – forget turning over a new leaf, just come and rake some grass instead! Leaf turning will be done in the Autumn. Sturdy shoes/boots are recommended as the ground is a little uneven in places.”
