A former ACF cadet hut in Bramley could be transformed into a pet crematorium if a recently submitted planning application is approved.
Pets at Peace Cremation Services has applied to Leeds City Council to convert the building into a pet crematorium facility with a chapel of rest/viewing room and administration support area at the building on Railsfield Rise, off Stanningley Road.
It’s expected up to seven cremations a day will take place, 2,555 per year.
A design statement submitted with the application states: “The applicant intends to install a technologically advanced cremator which incorporates a unique Hot Hearth technology enabling increased efficiency of cremation by continuously recycling heat throughout and below the primary cremation chamber, delivering complete 360° heating and reducing cremation time.”
Originally a cadet hut, the building was most recently used as an office/storage space for a plastering firm.
