Bramley: Festive clothing exchange includes book swap and school uniform exchange

Words: Vickie Jamieson

Bramley Community Clothing Exchange is holding its final festive clothing exchange of 2021 on Wednesday, 1 December.

So if you’re still looking for an outfit for your Christmas party or New Year’s Eve, or searching for that perfect novelty Christmas jumper – or you need a few more warm items of clothing now it’s turned colder – join us to get some guilt free seasonal sustainable fashion.

It’s taking place at Bramley Community Centre, it’s £3 entry for adults (children are free) and we’re open from 5.30pm until 7.30pm. Face masks and hand sanitising gel will be available on entrance.

As it’s the start of the silly season there will also be mince pies and hot chocolate and a few more sweet treats.

We are also including a book swap for this event, so bring along books you’re finished with and get stocked up on best sellers on us. We will have a few crafty Christmas treats and goodies on sale too.

School uniform exchange

Leeds Inner West Uniform Exchange will be joining us again too so please bring along school uniforms as donations or come along if you are looking for school uniform items for the new year. Find out more about the uniform exchange here.

Daisy Daniels’ appeal

This month the entrance fee and other funds raised will be donated to Daisy Daniels, who is raising money for the World Scout Jamboree.

Daisy has managed to secure a place at the 2023 event in South Korea, after being successful in the rigorous application process. Daisy is a key member of the Clothing Exchange volunteer team and has been with us from the start.

The money she raises for the Jamboree will also enable scouts from other less affluent countries around the world to attend the Jamboree too.

We really hope as many of you can join us on Wednesday to help kick off Christmas 2021 in a bright and positive way.
