Bramley Care Bears’ grotto proves a hit at lights switch on

By Paul Abraham

A group of volunteers who helped run the hugely successful Santa’s Grotto at the Bramley Christmas Lights Switch-on have thanked people for their support.

Bramley Care Bears are keen to make a positive difference in the Bramley area and run food distribution sessions each Friday and Sunday from the Broadlea Community Centre along with a host of other activities.

Care Bears chair Angela Vollens said: “Thank you all who supported us and massive thank you from the bottom of my heart to all the team members that worked their socks off getting the bus ready for Santas arrival.

“All the children were so happy seeing Santa and each receiving a special present. All the proceeds will go towards buying more presents for next year’s Santas Grotto.”

The Care Bears also run a community gardening team, as swell as tech buddies offering support to people who need help with their computers or mobile devices.
