Sunday, 12 April saw the fourth John Battle Swimming Gala take place.
Children from Bramley Baths swim school took part in the annual event showcasing their swim skills in competitive but fun races.
The gala is named after Sir John Battle (former Leeds West MP) who in 2010 helped save the Baths from closure by encouraging the local community to get involved and create a successful ‘save the Baths’ campaign.

The Baths has been a well loved community led social enterprise since 2013.
The morning session started following speeches from Mr Battle and Baths’ CEO David Wilford.
Everyone who took part received a certificate of achievement and the winners of each category were given a medal.
The overall winner received the coveted John Battle trophy which this year went to Erin Boyle. Her proud parents looked on and applauded as she was given her award.

The awards were presented by Sir John, David Wilford and Jamie Jones Buchanan (board co-chair and Leeds Rhinos CEO) who also gave a speech praising the Baths before the afternoon session.

Highly trained instructors at the Baths teach swimming lessons from ages six months up to adults.
