Fancy buying The Barley Mow for £450,000?

The Barley Mow pub in Bramley may have closed its doors for the last time.

The pub, on Bramley Town Street, has been put up for sale for a cool £450,000 by current owners Aprirose.

Aprirose took over more than 70 former Mitchells and Butlers pubs in 2017, including the Vesper Gate in Kirkstall. The other pubs are being kept on as a going concern.

The Grade II Listed pub is advertised for sale on the Daltons Business website, which highlights the substantial lounge and bar, large beer garden and four-bed private accommodation.

It remains to be seen whether the building will be bought as a pub or turned into something else.

Barley Mow was a former home ground of the Bramley rugby league club, who moved there in 1881. The club used the nearby Barley Mow public house as changing rooms. A blue plaque marks the history surrounding the pub.

Earlier this year plans were approved to transform The Globe pub on Broad Lane in Bramley into an undertakers. WOrk is ongoing at the site.
