A Bramley barber is donating all his takings on Saturday to children’s cancer charity Candlelighters.
Nasser Mehdikhani, 38, is hoping to raise in the region on £1,500 from customers at his Xerxes Barbers Shop in Upper Town Street – and has even booked a band to provide entertainment.
Mr Mehdikhani, who lives in New Farnley, said he runs the charity event every year. He told The Dispatch:
“I chose Candleighters because one of my customer’s children had cancer. My dad and uncle also suffered from it, so it’s a cause I want to help.
“I’m donating all takings, including any tips I get.”
Local band Sundogs, who are customers at Xerxes, will also be performing on the day.
Xerxes opened in Bramley in 2011. Mr Mehdikhani added:
“I love being in Bramley, The people are great – I’m really happy there and I hope they support us on Saturday.”
The shop opens 9am-6pm on Saturday.
