Undefeated Leeds welterweight boxer Billy Pickles will back in action at the Leeds United Banqueting Suite, Elland Road on Friday 7th September with the full support of the Bramley Buffaloes Rugby League team, writes Martyn Cheney.
Billy, who has won all five of his professional fights so far, is good friends with the Buffaloes and can be spotted cheering them on at all their matches.
Defeating the durable Slovakian Rudolf Durica in his first professional fight in November 2016.
Billy then went on to win all four fights in 2017 with a classy victory coming against the tall Lancastrian Dale Arrowsmith, then ending Nathan Hardy and Chris Adaway’s winning runs before defeating the battling Hungarian Pal Olah at the end of November.
Billy said:
“I love Buffaloes the club, we feed off each other’s support and belief. We’re all local lads trying to give the community a lift.”
Buffaloes Captain Brad Wilson enthused:
“Billy has supported us everywhere and was present when we won the Grand Final last season, so we’re behind him 100% and confident we’ll see another quality victory at Elland Road as he powers up the rankings.”
