Train services were cancelled or delayed this afternoon after a body was found on the tracks near Kirkstall Forge Station.
Emergency crews attended Kirkstall Forge at 2.53pm this afternoon (Wednesday, May 13), with the incident affecting services running between the station and Leeds.
British Transport Police have confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Officers were called to Kirkstall Forge at 2.53pm following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“Paramedics also attended however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious, and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
Delays on the track were due to last until approximately 6pm.
