A West Leeds community organisation is the recipient of a new prestigious regional health award.
Bramley-based Barca-Leeds has won the Yorkshire Medical Chambers (YMC) Annual Charity Award. YMC is a federation of doctors and health care professionals who provide essential support for medical practices across the region.
This award is a reflection of the quality and diverse work Barca-Leeds undertakes, especially in relation to improving health outcomes.
Barca-Leeds deliver the West Leeds PEP (Patient Empowerment Project) working with GP practices and it also delivers services in relation to cancer prevention and improving health and well-being.
Barca-Leeds is also a partner within the Forward Leeds service which provides comprehensive treatment services for Drug and Alcohol issues.
Mark Law, MBE and Chief Executive Officer, Barca-Leeds said:

Dr Sue Elton, GP, is member of the Yorkshire Medical Chambers and a former trustee of Barca-Leeds. She said:
