Armley residents encouraged to get involved in community activities

By community reporter

Armley’s Corridor of Colour Project is inviting people living in Armley and New Wortley to a ‘community voice’ meeting.

The project encourages people to get involved in their community and make decisions about community projects in your area and getting more projects started.

Over the past year it has helped to plant 250 bulbs over Armley, has given away free hanging baskets and planters, and planted wildflowers around Armley. It has also run workshops with Leeds Libraries, done many litter picks in the community and raised over £4,000 to go towards community projects.

ABCD community worker Victoria Kortekaas said: “But we want to do so much more, and we can’t do it without your help. Join us to help you decide on projects to spend this money on.”

Two meetings are planned:

  • Thursday 6 June, 5pm – 6pm Armley Community Hub
  • Friday 7 June, 1pm – 2pm New Wortley Community Centre

Confirm attendance vie this Doodle poll, or find out more by e-mailing victoria.kortekaas@newwortleycc.org.
