Armley could be set for its own community mural – and ideas are being sought for its potential location.
Paint recyclers Seagulls Paint have already teamed up with the guys at Kirkstall in Bloom to put together a mural at the Drink and Be Grateful Fountain area opposite Kirkstall Leisure Centre.
The mural includes a positive slogan ‘be grateful’ and now the Kirkstall Road social enterprise is looking to do a similar community arts project in Armley.
One of Seagulls’ founders, Cat Pearson, said:
“We’re looking for a location where a community mosaic project can go. We’re looking to do more projects like the one in Kirkstall, which spread positive messages and get the community involved.
“The murals look good and brighten up local spaces. Perhaps down by the wall of Arml;ey Jail would be a good place? We’re open to suggestions and urge peopel to contact us if they have ideas or want ti get involved.”

Seagulls sells recycled and remixed paint that would otherwise be thrown away. It was last week shortlisted for a prestigious social enterprise award.
