More than 50 West Leeds jobs will be created at a Bargain Madness (B&M) bargains and garden centre at the new Armley Retail Park.
The new store is due to open its doors for the first time on Friday 14th July at the site of the former Denso Marston radiator factory on Armley Road.
A spokesperson from B&M said:
“We’re feeling really positive about the creation of new jobs for local people and we hope customers are going to be delighted with their new store.
“We are all really excited to get the doors open and welcome our new customers through the door in a few weeks.”
A number of job roles are currently being advertised on the B&M website – roles range from sale assistant to floor managers and cleaners. There are a mixture of full and part-time positions both temporary and permanent.
Discount supermarket Lidl will operate a 20,000 square foot supermarket on the site, and there will also be a Farmfoods frozen food outlet. The £8.5 million retail park development is expected to generate more than 100 jobs in total.
The site has been empty since the 1990s and had been falling into neglect.
