Part of a former fashion shop on Stanningley Road will be transformed into apartments, after a planning application was approved.
Applicant [Mr or Ms] Jav wants to change the use of the first floor of the former Helen Sykes Fashions store from office and storage space to six apartments.
Each apartment would have one bedroom.
The empty ground floor, which housed Helen Sykes Fashions shop until its closure last year, is unaffected by the plans and remains as ‘one or two’ retail units.Â
Plans were approved subject to a raft of conditions, including the application processing full details of cycle parking and positioning of bin stores.
The Armley shop was open for 44 years and was popular with shoppers throughout Yorkshire, including celebrities.
The plans can be viewed in full – and commented upon – here.
