It’s more than a year since the Friends of Pudsey Cemetery and Chapel group launched at a packed public meeting in the town centre. Here, DAWN SEARY brings details of two action days Pudsey residents can get involved with…
Thank you to everyone who supported our recent coffee morning fundraiser at Pudsey House. We raised over £100 to continue to improve the cemetery and to work towards restoring the chapels.
We still have a very long way to go before we can say that the chapels are off the danger list, but we continue to work with the council to keep the grounds tidy and safe and with our litter-pick and action days.
We are also working hard to keep the building secure and remain fighting to get the roof water-tight before winter sets in.
Dates for your diary!
Sunday 30th September
Planting bulbs donated by Pudsey in Bloom.
and
Sunday 21st October
We have 160 war graves and family memorials to the lost in our cemetery. The plan for the day is to give as many as we can a gentle clean and respectfully leave a named poppy cross with each. Needless to say a big show of support for this event will be appreciated.
We hope to see you at our action days!
