Major road works by Leeds City Council start on Woodhall Road and Woodhall Lane next week, with closures and temporary lights during the daytime until the end of March, writes Anne Akers.
From Monday January 7, Woodhall Road will be restricted to one lane between Crossfield Farm and Woodhall Court while work is carried out to the pavement and the kerbs.
Once this is finished, the road itself will be resurfaced. Temporary lights will be operating between 8am and 6pm.
Woodhall Lane between Woodhall Hills Golf Club and Rockwood Road will be closed to through traffic while the road is resurfaced. Work starts on Wednesday January 9 and is due to finish on the 18th.
The closure will be Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 3.30pm with diversions in place. The road will be open as usual outside those times.
Local councillors Andrew and Amanda Carter have written to local residents warning them about the closures.
They said they anticipated significant disruption and that they would be keeping an eye on the situation.
They added that the work was necessary, though they had hoped it would be carried out earlier in the financial year.
