Roadworks on one of the busiest roads in West Leeds are due to be carried out as part of plans for a new Hyundai car dealership.
Plans for the dealership for the sale, service and MOT of new and used vehicles on Ashfield Way, off Gelderd Road in Farnley were approved by Leeds City Council nearly two years ago.
Road alterations, which include access onto Gelderd Road, and implementation of an order prohibiting parking and loading along the Gelderd Road site frontage have just been approved by the council.
The cost of the works – to be carried out by Leeds City Council, is £11,000, which will be charged to developer Northgate PLC.
The work centres around the site of vacant warehouse and distribution premises and the new dealership could create 26 new jobs.
