£131,000 of road improvement works linked to the building of up to 114 homes off Whitehall Road in New Farnley have moved a stop closer to reality.
As previously reported by WLD last year, Redrow Homes and Park Lane Homes have got planning permission from the council to build the new properties, despite widespread local opposition.
A new council report says the highways proposals will provide safe access to the new site and will include re-marking the existing hatched area on Whitehall Road to provide a right-turn lane and providing two pedestrian refuge islands.
According to published documents, Leeds City Council has now agreed to enter a legal agreement to allow the developers to complete the detailed design and construction of the works under the supervision of council officers.
The works will cost £115,000 with £16,000 staff costs, all to be fully covered by the developers.
