The conference was held ahead of the nationwide ‘Great British Spring Clean‘ events, which are set to take place from 3rd-5th March.
After a warm welcome from Kirkstall councillor Lucinda Yeadon, Leeds City Council’s Deputy Leader and Executive Member for Environment and Sustainability, guest speaker Kristian Bentham, of Keep Britain Tidy, highlighted the fact that a hefty 62% of the UK population drop litter.

A series of workshops were held throughout the day to share ideas and promote discussion on how to tackle issues at a grass roots level resulting in the creation of a ‘Litter Free Leeds’ network which aims to offer support, share good practice and promote community events.
