West Leeds decorator’s winning feeling on major Thai boxing promotion

By James Bovington

Jordan Farley may well have grown up immersed in regular boxing in gyms across East Leeds but he’s thrown in his lot with the west of the city as an Armley resident who trains at Bad Company in Bramley.

He said: “About three years ago I wanted a change having stuck it out as an amateur boxer for years.

“After the pandemic I decided to try Muay Thai. I’ve got long legs and they’ve proved useful for kicks. That’s the main difference with Thai Boxing, kicks to the body and head.

“I’m still in the amateurs but in my category the only major difference from fighting as a pro is that bouts are shorter. I love it at Bad Company. There’s a strong spirit of mutual support and people make progress quickly.

“I was pleased with my result in Leeds, my fifth fight on Hitman. I won against a tough, previously undefeated opponent and put on a dominating performance, probably my best to date.

“I’d trained exceptionally hard and view my victory as redemption after losing two close fights against some elite opponents. My supporters turned out in great number and I’m both proud and delighted to have this victory in my home city.

“I’ve now won three of my five fights on what is the major northern Muay Thai promotion. I intend to keep winning throughout 2026 and hopefully my first outing will be the Hitman show in Manchester at the end of February themed as Legends and where legendary Bad Company fighter Liam Harrison will headline, having come out of a quite short retirement.”

Farley, 29, is a decorator who maintains he’s “a tough, talented fighter who’s taking it one bout at a time.”

He hasn’t ruled out joining the professional ranks.
