Leeds’s annual Breeze In The Park entertainment programme is set to put sunny smiles on the faces of young people across the city once again this summer.
Leeds City Council’s roadshow-style extravaganza will see a total of 29 interactive play events for children and teenagers taking place in parks and green spaces over the course of five weeks.
Each one will feature a packed schedule of sports, games, art, music and other fun activities, all designed to add some memorable extra sparkle and shine to the school holidays.
This year’s programme begins with an event at Queens Park in Pudsey next Wednesday, July 26. Breeze runs until Thursday, August 31, when Horsforth Field Playground will be the host location.
Many of the events in our area will also be holding a pop up shop for uniform where families can take pick up some bits, free of charge, ready for the kids going back to school. Entry to these is open to everyone and you don’t need a ticket or Breeze Pass to gain entry.
West Leeds events include:
- Wednesday 26 July: Queens Park, Pudsey, LS28 7FB (Uniform stall provided by Reduce, Reuse Kids Clothes)
- Tuesday 8 August: Hainsworth Park, Farsley, LS28 5ES 7FB (Uniform stall provided by Reduce, Reuse Kids Clothes)

Councillor Jonathan Pryor, Leeds City Council’s executive member for economy, culture and education, said: “We’re determined, through our Child Friendly Leeds programme, to make this the best city in the UK for children and young people to grow up in.
“Breeze In The Park is a great example of how we’re working to achieve that aim, with its events providing an inclusive, enjoyable and value-for-money way to spend time in some of the wonderful green space that we have here in Leeds.
“I know the organising team have pulled out all the stops to deliver something extra-special, hopefully everyone attending will agree that they’ve succeeded.
“The events are also the perfect complement to the activity taking place during our LEEDS 2023 Year of Culture and, in particular, the current ‘Playing’ chapter of those celebrations.”
The Breeze In The Park events will each have two main sessions, one running from midday to 2.30pm and the second from 3pm to 5.30pm. The sessions for children with additional needs will run from 11am to midday.
Sessions cost 50p per child and tickets must be bought in advance. Purchases can be made via Breeze In The Park – Breeze Leeds or, for additional needs sessions, from Breeze In The Park Relaxed – Breeze Leeds.
Breeze Pass holders get fast-track entry into Breeze In The Park events and priority access to some inflatable attractions. Please note, pass holders must still purchase tickets in advance.
