West Leeds: Are dog fouling problems getting worse?

Problems with irresponsible dog owners not picking up poo after their pooch are getting worse, residents have said.

A number of complaints about dog fouling have been made via democracy website Fix My Street, where you can report problems direct to Leeds City Council.

Darren Lumsdon, of Spring Valley Drive, Bramley said at least a dozen dog poos on grass verges near his house. He said:

“As this is a fairly secluded estate it has to be the same offenders doing it. The problem is not just outside my property but on the whole estate.”

The Coal Hill Drive and Coal Hill Lane area in Rodley also has problems with repeated dog fouling, according to Rachel Wesson:

“The kids step in it every day…”

The public footpath between Lawns Park Primary School and Whincover Drive is also a hotpot, as local resident Chris Walker says:

“The footpath between the primary school and Whincover Drive has been covered in litter and leaves for weeks now – there’s dog mess in poo bags too. This path is right by the primary school.”

You can report problems about dog fouling to Leeds City Council via Fix My Street. You can also report problems like graffiti, fly tipping, pot holes, broken paving slabs or broken street lighting etc.
