Volunteers yarn bomb Kirkstall Lock – in photos

Members of the Hookers and Clickers group yarn-bombed Kirkstall Lock on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal this weekend.

The group, which meets weekly at Kirkstall Forge, put yup the festive decorations as part of a ‘woolly winter walk’ along a section of the Leeds and Liverpool canal from Kirkstall Forge to Leeds Industrial Museum.

Along the route, walkers found around 500 vouchers which were then exchanged for a handmade knitted or crocheted festive tree decoration. Attendees were alsojoined by carol singers from Bramley Trinity Methodist Church.

Posting on social media, the Hookers and Clickers said:

“What a fantastic couple of hours at Kirkstall Lock with Canal & River Trust and Bramley Trinity Methodist Church. Lots of lovely conversations down at our yarnbombing. So many people out walking. Terrific event and thank you Sharron [at Canal & River Trust] for giving us the opportunity to do this.”
