The Mill Gallery will launch two major photography exhibitions this September, showcasing both boundary-pushing contemporary practice and local talent.
In the Main Gallery, Reframe: New Perspectives in Photography presents more than 20 works by emerging and established artists. The exhibition explores identity, environment, abstraction, and personal storytelling, offering audiences fresh perspectives on what photography can be in 2025.
Running concurrently in The People’s Gallery, Bramley-based photographer Paul Abraham unveils One Moment In Time. The solo exhibition captures fleeting, everyday scenes — from a glance to a trick of light — highlighting the beauty in small, unnoticed details.
Both exhibitions open with a free public launch on Friday 12 September, featuring music, refreshments, and the opportunity to meet participating artists.
Alongside the gallery programme, The Mill also launches Friends of Photography, a new monthly meet-up for adults interested in photography of any kind, from mobile snaps to DSLR.
The first session takes place on Friday 26 September, 3–5pm, led by regular WLD contributor Paul Abraham, offering an informal space to share work, exchange tips, and build connections. Participants will also have the chance to be part of a group exhibition at The Mill in 2026.
Sarah Francis, Director of Aire Place Studios, said: “Photography is about noticing the world around us and giving everyone the chance to tell their story through images. The People’s Gallery is a space where local voices and everyday moments are valued and celebrated on equal footing.”
