A block of 12 flats could be built on vacant land in west Leeds if plans are agreed with the council.
Civcon Civil Engineering is seeking permission to built on a site in between the ring road at Bramley and Stanningley Bypass.
One and two-bedroom apartments would be created in a three-storey block at the site near Edison Business Centre and the Spring Valley Estate.
A design report said it would be on land already allocated for homes under Leeds City Council’s planning policy.
It said: “The proposal will boost the supply of housing in Leeds through delivery of 12 one and two bed apartments on this allocated housing site.
“The site is in a sustainable location with access to local shops, services and public transport.”
The site was classed as brownfield and previously included a tannery yard and chapel, the report said.
It said: “Currently, the site is predominantly scrubland, containing several trees, brambles and long grass.”
Three trees would be removed as part of the scheme, but there would be new planting and bird and bat boxes could be provided.
The report said: “The proposal will not result in any harm to ecological interests and will deliver opportunities to enhance biodiversity.”
The project would provide eight one-bedroom and four two-bed flats. Two would be classed as affordable housing.
The council will consider a full planning application for the scheme, which is out for consultation until February 9.

Thanks for the article it’s a positive that more housing is been built, however access to the Spring Valley Estate is a real problem I’m Interested as to how this will impact the narrow road and access from the busy ring road for all residents of the Spring Valley Estate .
