Community stalwart Yvonne Allman stepped back from running Swinnow Community Centre in May, after eight years of incredible service to the area.
And Swinnow Community Centre has today announced its re-launch, marked by an exciting collaboration with the Fuse Festival on Sunday, 7 July, from 12-4pm.
This event signifies a new chapter for the centre, driven by a dedicated team of volunteers and a strong commitment to bringing hope for the future, loving people, and serving local people.
Leading the charge are Lucy and Will Munton, Lianne Glastonbury, Tara Oakley, and Craig Newnes. Together, they have assembled an enthusiastic volunteer team, breathing new life into the community hub. Their efforts are already bearing fruit, with the centre recording an impressive 819 visits to various activities throughout June.
“Our goal is to create a welcoming and supportive environment for everyone in the community,” said Lucy Munton. “The re-launch and partnership with the Fuse Festival is just the beginning of many exciting initiatives to come.”
The re-launch in June saw the start of a youth club – The Den, a SEN parent support group, a stay and play parent and toddler session, and a new community cafe.
Volunteer Will Munton added: “In the first month alone we’ve had 819 visits, it’s been great to see the community get behind the centre, which has so much potential.”
A celebration will take place on Sunday 7 July, and feature a range of family-friendly activities including a free bouncy castle, food, crafts, glitter tattoos, live music, a silent disco and opportunities to learn more about the centre’s programs.
Swinnow Community Centre invites everyone to join in the festivities and discover the new and improved offerings available.
