Stanningley GP surgery plans extension to improve services

A two-storey extension could improve services at a Stanningley health centre.

West Leeds Family Practice – which runs Glenlea Surgery on Leeds and Bradford Road – is in the final stages of obtaining NHS funding for an extension to improve patient services.

The proposed extension will support an extended range of services, will improve access for frail and elderly patients, chronic diseases, enhanced space for minor treatments, core Primary Care services and training space for medical students from Leeds University.

It will include:

  • Community / Education Room
  • Consulting Rooms
  • Treatment Rooms
  • Support Accommodation including WCs,
  • Cleaners Cupboard, Waiting Area and
  • Utility Rooms.
  • Pram store
  • Stairs and a Lift for access to first floor

The main entrance will also be remodelled. The proposed extension is located partially on an area of existing car park and partially on a landscaped embankment between the GP surgery site and the adjacent pharmacy.

The West Leeds Family Practice  provides primary care services from three
sites in west Leeds:

  • Glenlea Surgery, Bramley
  • Calverley Surgery, Calverley
  • West Lodge Surgery, Farsley
