Stanningley gears up for first Christmas tree festival

By Alaina Dunne

Stanningley is set to sparkle this December as St Thomas’ Church and Church Hall hosts the community’s first Christmas Tree Festival on Saturday, 6 December 2025, from 10am to 4pm.

This free-to-attend, family-friendly event promises a magical day out for all, featuring a forest of imaginative Christmas trees decorated by local businesses and organisations.

Visitors can expect a joyful celebration filled with live performances, a cosy café, children’s crafts, a Christmas tree trail, Lego fun, and a variety of fayre stalls.

The Rev Lottie Jones, Priest-in-charge at St Thomas’ Church, said: “This is a brand new tradition for Stanningley, and we at St Thomas’ are so excited to bring our community together in such a creative and joyful way.

“There’s something for everyone — whether you want to admire the trees, enjoy a hot drink, or get stuck into the children’s activities.”

Entry is free, although donations are welcome to support the running of this event and St Thomas. The café will accept card and cash, while stalls will be cash only, so visitors are encouraged to come prepared.

Where: St Thomas’ Church and Church Hall, Stanningley Road, LS28 6NB
When: Saturday, 6 December, 10am – 4pm
Entry: Free (donations welcome).
