‘Sip and socials’ connects people in Armley and Burley

Leeds Sanctuary has announced their new “sip and social” community series will be coming to Armley and Burley.

Sip and socials are relaxed, creative spaces designed to help people pause, connect, and nurture their wellbeing.

Facilitated by Leeds Sanctuary’s Wellbeing Practitioner, Eleanor Gillott, the charity will be hosting a time for casual conversation and simple, soothing activities such as board games, creative writing, and drawing; providing an opportunity to step away from daily routines and spend time in friendly, intentional company.

“Sometimes, you just need a cuppa and a break. We hope this service will provide
just that,” said Eleanor.

“Everyone is welcome; no one will be turned away due to lack of funds, and our amazing partner businesses are inclusive environments.

“I’m excited to give people the opportunity to come and talk about everything and nothing – come and join me for a brew!”

Sip and social will rotate across welcoming venues in Leeds, offering accessibility and variety in atmosphere.

The venues include Galleria in Armley on Thursday 23 October 2025; and Chunk Bakery in Burley on Wednesday, 8 October. There is also a choice of morning, afternoon and evening sessions as Leeds Sanctuary hopes to support people with a variety of regular routines.

Sip and Social is free to attend, welcoming anyone seeking connection, creativity, or
calm. More information can be found here.

This community forms part of Leeds Sanctuary’s commitment to a Flourishing city –
our deep desire is for people to grow and develop in themselves and their lives.

Leeds Sanctuary is an independent charity which hosts communities and events, and
creates campaigns and resources, so that belonging, flourishing and transformation
can take place within and around the people of Leeds.

Through the development of sanctuary spaces for those on the margins, they enable supportive relationships to develop and bring about change in people’s circumstances and society. Find out more about them at www.leedssanctuary.org.uk.
