Show homes open at £25m Stonebridge Beck development

Two show homes and sales centre at a unique heritage mill site development in Farnley are set to officially open to the public this weekend (January 15).

Both the two-bedroom Wren and the four-bedroom Maple at Stonebridge Beck, adjacent to Farnley Beck, have been designed by interior design specialist Pip Hobman and are available to view on an appointment-only basis.

The homes are being built on the historic Stonebridge Mills site, off Stonebridge Lane, which has been subject to a long-running planning saga.

The £25m development includes 82 new homes as well as the regeneration of the grade II listed and long-derelict former woollen mill buildings and cottages, which is creating a further 30 homes.

The Wren includes a spacious kitchen/dining area, separate lounge and downstairs cloakroom. Meanwhile the Maple is arranged over three floors and offers a balcony, integral garage and en-suite to the master bedroom.

On completion the ambitious scheme will include mill townhouses, cottages, new build heritage properties and contemporary style new homes ranging from two to five bedrooms, with private parking and gardens. Prices start from £210,000.

The townhouses in the converted mill retain many of the original features, such as high ceilings and large windows to maximise the abundance of natural light.

Meanwhile, the original mill pond, water tower and chimney are also being restored to provide a reminder of the site’s industrial past.

Sales at the 112-home development, which incorporates the former Grade II-Listed Stonebridge Mills, are strong with 30 (27 per cent) of the homes already reserved off-plan.

Tim Reeve, on behalf of joint developers Rushbond Plc and Advent Developments, said:

“We have had significant interest already and the opening of the show homes will now allow potential buyers to view the impressive homes and get a real appreciation of their quality and the strong sense of community we are creating.”
