Father Christmas has been testing out a new pedal-powered sleigh on Armley Town Street.
He took the Roadblock Sound system for a test drive along Town Street before he settled in at Bundles reuse shop, with Armley Action Team, to meet local children and give out some gifts.Â
Roadblock are taking a break from designing the new Armley Roadblock sound system to show Father Christmas their bike-powered sound system, with a brass-duo helping bring the festivities to life.
The Roadlock team has been developing a new pedal-powered sound system with people of all ages in Armley and Wortley so that local people can put on events without the costs of hiring equipment. They are hoping to turn these crowd-sourced ideas into reality in the new year.
Lewis Hemingwa, from Roadblock, said: “If the spirit of giving is strong this year please search online for ‘Armley Roadblock’ to support the crowdfunder for the Wortley and Armley project.”
Roadblock CIC, a local group pioneering bike-powered, off-grid sound systems, has launched its first-ever crowdfunder campaign. They are aiming to raise £12,000 to design and build a new sustainable, off-grid machine with the local community in Armley.
The crowdfunder can be found here.
