Villagers in Rodley are being encouraged to take part in a competition to make their community look blooming lovely this summer.
Members of the voluntary group Light Up Rodley, which aims to improve the area and encourage people to take a pride in where they live, is running a hanging basket competition this summer.
Volunteer Melanie Enaje said the Leeds in Bloom organisation are sponsoring the event and donating a prize for first second and third place. She said:
“Rodley village would look amazing if all the homes and businesses had some sort of display. It’s an event the majority of residents can be involved in.”
The contest will cost £1 to enter. The date of judging will be 28th July and Richard Gill from Leeds in Bloom will be the judge.
