A Remembrance Service in Kirkstall was held on Armistice Day, Tuesday 11 November.

The Reverand Stephen Kaye read the service at the Cenotaph on Bridge Road, accompanied by the deputy Lord Lieutenant Merran McRae.

Two minute’s silence was held, followed by readings by children from Beecroft, St Stephen’s, Sacred Heart, Hawksworth Wood, Kirkstall Valley and Burley St Matthias Primary Schools, who read poems and prayers.

There was a large attendance of people, including veterans, councillors, local groups, residents and families. It was followed by the laying of wreaths around the cenotaph steps and ended with a moving note from the Reverend.
