A popular Horsforth pub is set for an external revamp after plans were submitted to Leeds City Council to decide.
Applicant Mitchells and Butlers say the work at The Eleventh Earl, on Fink Hill, would involve ‘sensitive and sympathetic’ additions and improvements which will enhance the pub’s character and appearance.
They say there will be no changes to the overall use of the site.
Proposals submitted to Leeds City Council this week include:
- New walling, fencing and gates.
- Installation of festoon lighting on timber posts.
- Resurfacing and extension of tarmac parking area.
- External redecoration works and new cladding and lighting to entrance.
A planning statement submitted with the application states: “The proposals will enable the public house and grounds to be updated, modernised and maintained to meet present day operational and customer demands.
“The proposed works will enable significant investment into the continued use as of the facility as a public house and restaurant ensuring its retention and enhancement as a local community facility and its long-term sustainability.”
The plans can be viewed in full here.

How about an internal refurbishment as well. And while they’re at it, possibly a new cheffing team? Ate there in August with my family. Poor, even by Toby Carvery standards. It was busy, yet the food tasted as though it had been hanging around for hours.
