MP for Leeds West and Pudsey, Rachel Reeves took time out from her hectic schedule to attend the Christmas extravaganza at New Wortley Community Centre.
The event was the first evening Christmas-themed event at the centre for many years and attracted more than 300 people.
The highlight of the evening was a visit from Santa himself who saw over 80 children in his grotto before returning to the North Pole.Â
The crowds were entertained with traditional Christmas carols performed by the suitable attired Victorian themed carol singers from Same Difference Theatre Company and free hot chocolate and treats were served to all.
Rachel Reeves MP said: “’It was fantastic to visit New Wortley Community Centre for their Christmas Extravaganza!
“It was lovely to catch-up with Andrea and team, as well as to meet families who benefit from all the wonderful projects at the community centre.”
In addition to the Christmas Extravaganza event the centre supported 50 families with festive food hampers and distributed toys to over 110 local children to help make the big day special.Â
A New Wortley spokesperson added: “Thanks to all our supporters who donated to our Christmas campaign and all the very best to everyone in 2025!”
