QTS staff serve up festive joy with local charity

Generous staff from Leeds-based QTS Group gave up their time this week to get involved with Armley Helping Hands at its annual Christmas party.

Armley Helping Hands supports older people living in parts on LS12. Their mission is to provide a lifeline of care, companionship, and practical assistance, helping older people feel valued, connected and less isolated.

QTS, who has provided volunteers every festive period since 2022, has taken its support a step further this year and provided funding to ensure that every guest who attends the party can enjoy a hot Christmas meal free of charge.

Armley Helping Hands CEO Dawn Newsome said: “I want to express my sincere gratitude for not only supporting us by providing volunteer support on the day but to cover the cost of our Christmas meals this year.

“This thoughtful gesture truly embodies the spirit of the season, and it will significantly make a difference not only to the people attending the event but the cost we are saving will all allow us to give free meals to older people we have concerns within the forthcoming winter months”.

Emma Whyte, Social Value Lead for QTS Group said: “Christmas is a time for giving and our team is delighted once again to be helping to bring joy and festive cheer to those who need it most through our work with Armley Helping Hands.

“The work that the charity does is truly invaluable and we are thrilled to help fund the lunch this year. It really is the highlight of the year for the guests but also for our volunteers who love coming along and being part of the festivities.”
