Pudsey based G&H is encouraging the next generation of talent to apply for its 2026 apprenticeship scheme in the construction and building services sector.
Launched during National Careers Week, the mechanical, electrical and public health services provider is offering Building Services Craftsperson, Electrical, and Building Services Engineering Technician apprenticeships, all based at its office in South Parade.
Paul Churchill, Development Manager at G&H, said: “From day one, apprentices join G&H as full-time employees. They are mentored by experienced colleagues, gain hands-on experience and, if based on site, are exposed to a wide variety of tasks across live projects.
“On completion of their apprenticeship, individuals are supported with a clear professional development plan and genuine opportunities to progress. Our apprenticeship programme is designed to identify and develop future talent, ensuring our workforce is skilled, adaptable and ready for the future.
“Over 96 per cent of G&H apprentices successfully complete their programmes. This is testament to our supportive culture and ongoing investment in development. A recent example is our dedicated training facility, which gives apprentices the time and space to build practical skills and confidence before working on live sites. This ensures they meet both industry regulations and G&H’s own high standards.”
Amelia Armitage, Project Engineer Apprentice, said: “I joined in August 2025 and I’ve been involved in a mix of in-person and online training, attending meetings, visiting sites and learning directly from colleagues about different parts of the job process. I’ve really enjoyed gaining hands-on experience alongside my studies within a supportive organisation.
“Six months into the role, I still feel incredibly fortunate to work in an exciting, fast-paced industry. I’d encourage anyone with a passion for starting a career in construction to check out the G&H 2026 apprenticeship opportunities.”
Apprentices joining in August 2026 will become full-time employees, gaining hands-on experience, academic qualifications, mentorship from experienced colleagues and a competitive salary. Applications are welcome from post-A-Level, BTEC or equivalent school and college leavers.
The apprenticeship schemes are delivered in partnership with Leeds College of Building and Bradford College, leading to an industry-recognised City & Guilds qualification.
G&H has been delivering apprenticeships since 1999, with many former apprentices progressing into senior roles within the business.
The deadline for applications is midnight on 30 April 2026. CVs should be sent to apprenticeships@wearegandh.com. For further information, visit the G&H website.
