Pudsey: Man seriously hurt in attempted bike robbery

Police are appealing for information after a man was left seriously injured following an attempted motorbike robbery in Pudsey.

At 9.16pm last night, officers were called to what initially appeared to be a road traffic collision involving a motorcycle at the junction of Swinnow Road and Intake Road.

It was established to have been an attempted robbery where five males on three motorbikes had approached the 29-year-old victim at the nearby Esso petrol station, in Lowtown, and tried to steal his motorbike.

In fear, the victim sped off pursued by the suspects and lost control as he turned into Intake Road, hitting a wall.

He was taken to hospital by ambulance and is continuing to receive treatment for serious injuries which are not considered life threatening.

The suspects abandoned one of the motorbikes they were riding nearby in Lowtown.

Officers from Leeds District Crime Team are continuing to carry out enquiries to identify the suspects and would like to hear from anyone who witnessed any part of the incident, particularly anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Leeds DCT via 101 quoting crime reference 13220391860 or online, here.

  1. This is getting crazy. This is happening all over Leeds (and other cities) with zero police presence and courts that give a slap on the wrist on the rare occasion these these people are caught. See them round Bramley/Wortley/Ring road usually in large groups with no helmets/balaclavas/reg numbers. But the only response. Whoo more cameras which don’t deter.

The problem nowadays is that the Police are politically controlled by the worst thing that ever happened, Police & Crime Commissioners. This is compounded by the fact that we have a Mayor, who is totally out of touch with anything the people of West Yorkshire deserve. The Coronation Street actress who managed to get in by default, is supposed to be responsible for policing as well! She was supposed to sort the buses out, and after a recent visit to Otley, and having three buses cancelled on our return to Leeds, she doesn’t seem to have had much success in that area? In fact, from a personal perspective, since she was elected, I would like to know what she has done? I was even thinking of having a Stevie Wonder track played on local radio for her. It’s entitled “You haven’t done nothing!!”
