Pupils at Pudsey Lowtown Primary School are set to benefit from £232,000 kitchen improvement works to tackle ‘significant health and safety issues’.
A council report says the scheme will allow the school to offer a hot free school meal to all children in reception, year one and year two, as required by law.
Work includes a kitchen extension and refurbishment of existing facilities including the installation of new kitchen equipment which is scheduled to be finished by October 2017.
The proposed works include:
- Re-modelling and expansion of the existing kitchen
- Refurbishment of the kitchen area
- Upgrade of the mechanical and electrical installation as necessary
- Installation of new kitchen equipment
