Pudsey: Lalas restaurant withdraws extension plans

A popular Indian restaurant in Pudsey has withdrawn proposals for a major expansion.

Bosses at Lalas restaurant in Bradford Road wanted to convert an existing unused area above the restaurant into an extra seating area and had applied to Leeds City Council for planning permission in September.

Plans submitted to Leeds City Council included a single storey rear extension, single storey side extension and an outside terrace area.

The restaurant had proposed to maintain 60 parking spaces at the site, which is the same as it is now. Lalas said the move will create extra jobs and cater for demand at the restaurant.

But there had been local opposition over parking

The plans can be viewed in full here.

  1. Too many of theses restaurants and takeaways, no wonder there’s a obesity problem in this country, I personally would like to see a lot less of these places, never mind enlarging them
