A Pudsey councillor who was investigated by his party over a post on social media has been reinstated following an investigation.
As reported last month, Councillor Simon Seary, who’s represented the Pudsey ward on Leeds City Council since 2018, had been temporarily suspended by the council’s opposition Tory group.
It follows a post on Cllr Seary’s public Facebook page on November 20, which apparently took aim at his Pudsey ward colleague and fellow Conservative, Councillor Trish Smith.
The misconduct investigation has now concluded, with few details publicly released by the Conservatives. In a statement this afternoon, Leeds Conservative Party whip Cllr Dan Cohen, confirmed: “Cllr Seary continues to be a member of the group.”
