Pudsey is set to sparkle again with its annual Christmas Lights switch on this Sunday, December 3, 2023.
The event is a highlight of the Pudsey calendar. It will start at 3pm and finish at 7pm and this year promises an array of attractions.
The Farmac Main Stage will host live performances, and a lively atmosphere. Fun fair rides will line Lowtown, with fun for all ages. Pudsey Market will be bustling with unique gifts and treats, adding to the holiday cheer.
Pudsey House will be a hub of creativity with craft activities for children, and the much-anticipated Santa’s Grotto experience is set to return – there’s also a Christmas colouring competition in the Crossed Shuttle.
Adding to the community spirit, the Rotary Club are running their annual Christmas Craft Fair in Pudsey Leisure Centre with plenty of stalls to browse. Pudsey Parish Church will have a relaxing family event with hot and cold snacks, a free bouncy castle and a creche for the little ones.
Businesses throughout the town are also opening late too.
Volunteers at St Andrew’s Church will be serving hotdogs and are offering a good viewing point of the fireworks.
The grand finale will see more than 300 Christmas trees and miles of lights switched on at 6pm. All are invited to join in the celebrations, meet Santa, and immerse themselves in everything Pudsey has to offer.
Road closures
Lowtown, from the junction of Robin Lane to The Lane, will be closed next Sunday from 10am till 10pm. This is to allow the stage and funfair to be set up for the event to start at 3pm.
All public car parks and the bus station will remain open throughout the day. Bus diversions will run along Robin Lane, Valley Road and Kent Road.
